Our Services

Clean, Protect, & Repair

We take pride in our work and are happy to help you keep your rugs looking and smelling their best. Our professional rug washing service will ensure your rugs will get the most thorough clean ever, and will look, feel and smell their best.

Pre-Inspection & Dusting

There's a lot to be done before your rug is even cleaned. Every rug gets a thorough pre-inspection.  We look at the fiber, construction, condition, stability of dyes, soils, odors, and insect damage.  We look for any damage and worn areas. This is how we determine the best method of rug cleaning and any other services it may need. Then your rug is thoroughly dusted to remove the dry soil buried between the fibers.  We have multiple ways of dusting that we can use, depending on your rug's needs.

Shampooing rug

Cleaning & deodorizing

Every rug gets an individualized rug washing service plan depending on it's needs.  We email you an order approval with an explanation and pricing for you to approve before we start anything. We will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Woven wool rug

Protect & Prevent

We have several add on services in addition to our rug washing service to protect and prolong the life of your rug; including fiber conditioners, fiber protector, and protection against moth infestations. Talk to us about any concerns you may have and we can discuss all of your options.

Braided rug with splits being repaired

Repair

Whether it is split rows in your braided rug or a worn side cord on your handwoven rug, we offer a variety of in house repairs.

Pet Odors

Not all smelly areas are visible, we clean the interior part of the rug, not just the surface, to get to the source. Whether it is pet body odor from body oils or urine, or something else stinky, our guaranteed odor removal process will leave your rugs clean, fresh, and sanitary.

Moth infested woven wool rug

Pest Problems

If you have any concerns about a moth infestation, please call ahead and let us know before you bring your rugs in. You need more than just our rug washing service. We have a safe, green moth treatment, safe for all fibers.  We also have a post-treatment that will prevent infestations. A must if you will be storing your rugs for any length of time.

Watch the Colors pop

Wool hides dirt. When this rug first came in it was hard to tell just how dirty it was. You can see the dirt being washed out of it, and then see how bright the colors are supposed to be at the end.

Dusting

What happens when you add water to dirt? You get mud. That is why dusting is such an important step. We have different methods that we use depending on the condition of the rug. This is just one of the ways we would dust a rug.

We clean unique rugs from around the world

Nicknamed "Muppet" while it was in our care, this unique rug was a fun wash.

Repair and Restoration of a 100 Year Old Village Rug

This is a 1920's village rug from the Hamadan region of Iran, specifically Touserakan. There's around 1500 villages that produce rugs in the greater Hamadan region and this is one of the few very recognizable ones. Village rugs are made in homes in small villages.

what you should know before you hire a rug cleaner

buyer beware

Rug cleaning is very different from carpet cleaning.

Before you trust a rug cleaner with your rugs, there are some things you should know.

Avoid the less than $2 per square foot companies.  And there should be different rates based on the fiber, a silk rug cleaning should not cost the same as a synthetic rug cleaning. There is a lot more cost involved in cleaning rugs than in cleaning carpet. From the amount of time spent on the rug, to the chemistry, training, education, knowledge and expertise, and even the cost of insurance, it costs considerably more to clean rugs. If the cleaning is cheap, there are corners being cut. Whether it is the quality of work, and/or the safety of your rug, something is missing.

All rug cleaners should offer a fiber protector specifically designed for wool, silk, or one of the many other popular fibers for rugs. It is not the same as carpet protector.

Have them explain their cleaning methods. They should have multiple options/methods of cleaning based on the needs of the rug.

Ask if they will dust your rug. It is important that you start with removing the dry soil from a rug before you wet clean it.  They should have more than one way to dust a rug, again, the construction and condition of rugs vary widely, and it is not a one size fits all process.

Ask if they are WoolSafe approved and certified by the IICRC. We are a wool safe provider and are certified. We are trained, experienced, and tested in our knowledge and abilities.

Don't let them clean your rugs in your home. Rugs should NOT be cleaned in the home. A true, well trained rug cleaner will have a facility to properly clean rugs. Rugs should not be cleaned with a truckmount like your carpet.

Can you get a tour of their facility? When you put your rugs into someone's care, you should feel comfortable with where they are going.
